The Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) authorities have made emergency preparations for the treatment of those injured in the earthquake that struck Bangladesh on the morning of Friday, November 21, 2025. As part of this, four beds in the general emergency department of BMU have been reserved for emergency treatment of the injured.Necessary instructions have already been given to the chairmen of BMU’s Neurosurgery Department, Orthopaedic Surgery Department, and Anaesthesia, Analgesia and Intensive Care Medicine Department to ensure smooth treatment of the injured. These preparations have been taken on the urgent instructions of BMU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam. This information was given by BMU’s newly appointed Director (Hospital), Brigadier General Irteka Rahman. He also said that Dr. Amit and Dr. Nusrat Sharmin will be on duty in the evening shift in the general emergency department.
