Wheelchairs donated to BMU by doctors who are victims of discrimination and have been deprived in the past

During the previous Awami League government, 45 doctors of Bangladesh Medical University, who were deprived of promotion for years and suffered extreme and brutal discrimination, have donated 25 very valuable wheelchairs to BMU for their patients. on, Saturday, January 24, 2026, all these wheelchairs were handed over to the university administration on the ground floor of B Block on  Saturday of BMU. It is worth noting that these respected doctors who were deprived of promotion had filed a writ petition in the High Court. The current administration has removed their discrimination. At the wheelchair handover ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shahinul Alam said, those who work in both favorable and unfavorable times are the real leaders. All the doctors of BMU who were deprived of promotion in the past have set a great example on Friday. If they wanted, they could have had a picnic, they could have done something else to celebrate, but instead of doing that, even in today’s favorable time, they are donating wheelchairs keeping in mind the patients. This is truly a great example of humanity, an example to follow. Bangladesh Medical University is working for the people of the country, for the welfare of patients, doing research, providing medical services, and preparing specialist doctors through higher education. I firmly believe that if the teachers of BMU work together, this institution will be established as one of the best medical universities in Asia.

Ruhul Quddus Biplob, etc. delivered encouraging and inspiring speeches at this grand event.
