BGB raids arrest 1 person with easy bike and drugs at Sharsha border
As part of the zero tolerance policy against drugs and smuggling at the border, a special team of Khulna Battalion (21 BGB) from Goga BOP conducted a raid today, April 5, 2026, and arrested one person with a large quantity of drug syrup and an easy bike. The accused is named Md. Kalam Hossain (45). He is the son of the late Md. Babu Sarkar of Putkhali village under Benapole Port police station in Jessore district. As part of the zero tolerance policy against drugs and smuggling at the border, a special team of Khulna Battalion (21 BGB) from Goga BOP conducted a raid today, April 5, 2026, and arrested one person with a large quantity of drug syrup and an easy bike.
The accused is named Md. Kalam Hossain (45). He is the son of the late Md. Babu Sarkar of Putkhali village under Benapole Port police station in Jessore district.
According to BGB sources, this special operation was conducted in the border area under the responsibility of Goga BOP based on secret information. The following items were recovered from the accused during the operation:-
10 bottles of Winnix syrup, 11 bottles of ESKUF syrup and 01 easy bike (which was being used to transport drugs). According to the BGB, the estimated value of the seized goods including the seized drugs and easy bike is 2,08,400/- (two lakh eight thousand four hundred) taka.
In this regard, Khulna Battalion (21 BGB) Commander Lt. Col. Md. Nafiz Imtiaz Ahsan said that the intelligence surveillance and patrol activities of the BGB have been increased much compared to the past to prevent drugs and all kinds of illegal smuggling through the border. Today’s successful operation has been completed in continuation of this. He further strongly stated that such strict operations of the BGB will continue in the future to protect the country’s borders and protect the youth from drugs.
The process of taking legal action against the accused Kalam Hossain is ongoing.
