With the aim of formulating and implementing the National Pay Scale 2026, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Medical University, Professor Dr. FM Siddiqui, inaugurated the new salary determination program through automation in his office. In his speech as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, the Honorable Vice Chancellor said, this initiative of automation of salary determination process in BMU in light of National Pay Scale 2026 is a milestone. This is the first such modern and transparent step in the university. The four main activities of the university are medical education, medical services, research and development. Today’s activity will further advance BMU’s paperless system and ensure more transparency and accountability in the financial field. Time will be saved and the complications related to salary and pension of the employees will be reduced. At the same time, financial activities will be more dynamic and strengthened. By issuing the notification of National Pay Scale 2026, the Honorable Prime Minister of the current government, Mr. Tarique Rahman, has fulfilled the aspirations and demands of the officials and employees for many years. Through this, the officials and employees will be more encouraged to perform their respective duties and responsibilities efficiently. The university’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and Acting Treasurer, Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, said, “A university is not built only by its buildings, equipment or infrastructure. A university is built by the combination of talent, labor, honesty and dedication of its teachers, doctors, researchers, officers and employees. Behind the responsibility that Bangladesh Medical University is fulfilling in the field of education, medicine and research, there is the relentless work of countless people. A teacher creates future doctors with his knowledge. A doctor tries his best to save the lives of patients. A researcher searches for new knowledge. And every officer and employee of the university keeps this huge work going from his own position. Therefore, determining the salaries and allowances due to everyone working properly and paying them on time is not just a financial responsibility; it is an institutional respect for their labor, dignity and contribution. The inaugural ceremony was moderated by BMU Director (Finance and Accounts) Mr. Khandaker Shafiqul Hasan Ratan and valuable speeches were delivered by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Howlader. The event emphasized technology-based financial management, maintaining financial discipline, and ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in salary determination. It was informed at the event that the National Pay Scale 2026 was published in the form of a government gazette on Thursday, September 17, 2022, and the salary implementation process of government officials and employees through IBUS officially started on October 6, 2026. In continuation of this, on October 14, 2026, the automation process of a desired salary determination 2026 has been started at Bangladesh Medical University by connecting it with IBUS Link in the Director (Finance and Accounts) Office through a customized method as per the demand with the help of the IT Cell.
