A protest rally has been held in Bogura metropolis demanding the removal of the chairman of Islami Bank. The customer forum has issued a six-point demand, including the formation of an independent board.
A protest was held in front of the Bogura branch office on Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam Road in the city on Tuesday afternoon. The rally organized under the banner of Islami Bank Aware Customer Forum Bogura Metropolitan was attended by shareholders, entrepreneurs, investors and general depositors of the bank. The rally was presided over by Bogura Metropolitan Consumer Forum convener Ed. Shahin Mia. Member Secretary Business Leader Selim Reza, Joint Convener Labor Leader Azgar Ali, Principal Iqbal Hossain, Lecturer Abdul Halim, Dr. Abu Bakkar Siddique, Labor Leader Master Anwarul Islam and others spoke at the rally.
The speakers said that the unprofessional chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC should resign. Even though more than three months have passed since he took charge, the bank has not been able to form a full-fledged board of directors. A full-fledged and effective board of directors should be formed with honest, qualified, experienced and professional people.
