Mostafa Kamal, Dean of the Faculty of Surgery Professor Dr. Md. Ibrahim Siddique were present as special guests at the seminar. Professor Md. Rafiqul Islam, Department of Urology, BMU, presented a scientific paper at the seminar. He discussed the topic ‘From Routine to Rescue: Recipient-side Renal Transplant Surgery in BMU’. Professor Dr. Touhid Md. Saiful Hossain, Department of Urology, BMU, presented a scientific paper on ‘Updated Clinical Management of Dengue Insights of Donor Nephrectomy’. Associate Professor Dr. Md. Kabir Hossain, Department of Nephrology, BMU, presented a scientific paper on ‘Kidney Transplantation: Current Scope and Challenges from the BMU Perspective’. The seminar discussed the current status of kidney transplantation, donor and recipient preparation, medical facilities, post-transplant treatment and various challenges in this sector. The speakers emphasized modern medical facilities for kidney transplantation, selection of suitable donors, regular follow-up, raising public awareness about organ donation and performing kidney transplantation in the country instead of abroad. BMU’s Associate Professor of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Dr. Chowdhury Shamsul Haque Kibria moderated the event, which was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Dr. Shamim Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Children, Professor Dr. Md. Atiar Rahman, Dean of Dental, Professor Dr. Sakhawat Hossain Sayant, Chairman of the Department of Urology, Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Professor Dr. AKM Khurshidul Alam, Professor Dr. Mohd.
