Ordinary passengers have been suffering as the ticket counters at Rajshahi Railway Station closed before the scheduled time. Some passengers who came to the station to buy tickets at 11:05 pm found all the counters closed.

The victims complained that there is no clear schedule posted at the station ticket counters regarding when ticket sales will start and end. As a result, they are in trouble when they come to buy tickets at night for urgent needs and find the counters closed.

It was learned from the spot that the ‘Dhaka Mail’ train left Rajshahi Railway Station for Chapainawabganj at 11:30 pm. It has been alleged that some passengers were forced to board the train without buying tickets as the counter was closed at that time.

Passengers said that if the opening and closing times of the counters were clearly displayed, they could have taken necessary measures in advance. They also complained that there was not enough information about where or how to collect tickets after the counters were closed.

According to passengers, such irregularities in counter operations increase the suffering of passengers on the one hand, and on the other hand, the railways may also be deprived of potential revenue.

To reduce their suffering, the affected passengers have demanded that clear timetables be displayed at the ticket counters at Rajshahi Railway Station and regular monitoring be ensured in the operation of the counters.
