BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has raised serious allegations of a secret conspiracy against the local administration of Magura.
Rabiul Islam Nayan, Joint General Secretary of the Central Jubo Dal and Member Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo Dal.
He made the allegation while speaking as the chief guest at a workers’ meeting organized by Nahata Union BNP at the Nahata Rani Patit Secondary School grounds in Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura on Saturday afternoon.
In his speech, he alleged that the Magura administration is giving privileges and benefits to Chhatra League and Jamaat-Shibir workers at the local level, while excluding the persecuted and abandoned leaders and activists of BNP.
For example, the general secretary of Magura Government College Chhatra Dal has been excluded from the task of collecting family card information.
He further said that out of 92 people appointed as supervisors and data collectors in Mohammadpur Upazila, 25 Chhatra League workers have been appointed, and although an application has been made to higher officials with specific evidence, no solution has been found yet.
Warning the administration, Nayan gave a stern warning, saying, “Through these activities, a section of the administration is secretly conspiring against Tarique Rahman.
“Those conspiring against the nationalist forces in the Magura and Magura-2 constituencies will not be spared even a hair’s breadth, and if necessary, a tough movement will be launched again.”
At the same time, regarding the upcoming Union Parishad elections, he urged the leaders and activists to strengthen the hand of national hero Tarique Rahman by selecting a qualified and popular candidate and making him win.
The meeting was presided over by Mohammadpur Upazila BNP’s former general secretary and former upazila chairman Md. Jahangir Alam Khan Bachchu. Former upazila BNP president Golam Azam Sabu, former member secretary Md. Akhtaruzzaman, former joint convener Golam Rabbani Hero, former joint convener Mostafizur Rahman and former upazila Jubo Dal general secretary Md. Mizanur Rahman Mizan were present as special guests.
In addition, Jubo Dal member secretary Md. Sharifuzzaman Sharif, Sramik Dal general secretary Jewel Ahmed, Chhatra Dal member secretary Md. Rajab Ali, as well as a large number of leaders and activists from the union, BNP and its affiliates, including Babukhali’s Faruk Ahmed and Amirul Islam Madhu Molla, were present at the meeting.
