Press Club Jessore election: President Tukun, Secretary Nur Islam

Jahid Hasan Tukun and Nur Islam have won the biennial election of Jessore Press Club Jessore. The election was held at the Press Club Jessore office on Saturday. After counting the votes, the chairman of the election management committee, Advocate Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, announced the results. Zahid Hasan Tukun received 68 votes in the election. His closest rival Fakir Shawkat received 49 votes. Nur Islam was elected as the general secretary with 45 votes. Jahid Hasan Tukun and Nur Islam have won the biennial election of Jessore Press Club Jessore. The election was held at the Press Club Jessore office on Saturday. After counting the votes, the chairman of the election management committee, Advocate Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, announced the results. Zahid Hasan Tukun

Nur Islam was elected as the general secretary with 45 votes. Wahabuzzaman Jhantu received 41 votes and Jewel Mridha received 29 votes for this position.
Dewan Morshed Alam was elected as the sports, cultural and social service secretary with 59 votes. His rival Saifur Rahman Saif received 52 votes.
Meanwhile, 6 out of 8 candidates were elected as members. They are Shahid Joy 96, Rafiqul Islam 92, Ghalib Hasan Piltu 81, Murshidul Azim Hiru 79, SM Sohel 62 and Touhid Zaman 59 votes.
Abdul Wahab Mukul 48 and Shafiq Sayeed were defeated in this position by getting 54 votes.
In addition, Anwarul Kabir Nantu and Sarwar Hossain were elected unopposed for the post of Vice-President, Kazi Ashraful Azad and Firoz Gazi for the post of Joint General Secretary, Zahid Ahmed Liton for the post of Treasurer and Touhid Moni for the post of Office Secretary.
It is worth mentioning that the election of Press Club Jessore was held today, Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm amidst great enthusiasm and festive atmosphere.
Many journalists working in Jessore city and outside the city and even outside the district, including members of the Press Club, started appearing at the Press Club premises since morning. The Press Club premises became bustling with the movement of journalists.
