An explosion occurred in the gas plant supply line of the guest filling station in Bogura. The plant's canopy, CNG-powered auto-rickshaws, security walls and other structures were damaged. An explosion occurred in the gas plant supply line of the guest filling station in Bogura. The plant’s canopy, CNG-powered auto-rickshaws, security walls and other structures were damaged. Five people were reportedly injured in the explosion. Three of them were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
An explosion occurred at a guest filling station in Islampur area of Dhaka-Bogura highway on Saturday afternoon. The loud noise spread panic in the surrounding area. Drivers and passengers of several CNG vehicles who had come to get gas ran away.
It is learnt that a sudden explosion occurred in the supply line inside the gas plant of the filling station. The roof of the plant was shattered. At that time, several auto-rickshaws that had come to collect gas were parked there. They were also damaged in the fire. Upon receiving the information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
Bogura Fire Service Station In-charge Shahidul Islam said, “The explosion occurred at a gas refilling place. It is initially estimated that the damage is around 1.5 million taka. The damage may increase further.”
Sanwar Hossain, manager of the guest filling station, said it was not immediately clear how the explosion occurred. The matter is being investigated. Three of the injured, including the CNG driver, have been sent to the rescue hospital.
