Fortis Football Club made winning start as they thrashed ChattogramCity Football Club by 6-0 goals in one of the opening day matches of the Bangladesh FootballLeague (BFL) held at Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital today.
Gambian forward Pa Omar and Japanese forward Noriki Akada scored twice each to lead Fortis tothe emphatic victory.
They were well supported by forwards Mohammad Ibrahim and Rafayel Tudu who netted one goal each in the 79th and 82nd minutes respectively in the one sided affairs.
In the day’s another opening day’s fixture, Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club beat Dhaka Wanderers Club by 2-1 goals with Gambian forward Sulayman Sillah scored a brace in the 35th and 41st minutes while after the break Australian forward Angus John Baily netted a lone goal in the 52nd minute of the match.
In another match of the day, PWD Sporting Club forced Abahani Limited to play a goalless draw held at Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium in Manikganj.
In the day’s other match held in Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur, Bangladesh Police Football Club edged past old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by a solitary goal scored by forward Hossain Mohammad Arian in the 90th minute of the match.
