He said that the arrested people will be sent to the Netrokona court on Wednesday.
The arrested are Salma Akhtar (34), daughter of Milan Mia of Dhajnagar village in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria district, Mina Begum (46), daughter of Chan Mia of the same area, and Md. Hridoy Hasan (24), son of Ali Azam of Lalpur village in Debidwar upazila of Comilla.
According to the case report, the drug traffickers arrived at the Khatkepur trawler ghat by boat on Tuesday morning. They left for Netrokona from here. Meanwhile, Mymensingh RAB-14, after receiving a tip-off, arrived at Khatkepur in the morning. Sensing the presence of RAB, the traffickers tried to escape. They were arrested at that time. During the search of the arrested persons, four packets of 10 kg of ganja were found in a travel trolley bag belonging to Salma Akhter, three packets of 7.5 kg of ganja in a market bag belonging to Hridoy Hasan, and two and a half kg of ganja in a pocket of a school bag belonging to Mina Begum. Later, these were seized and a case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act at Madan Police Station by Mymensingh RAB-14 Naib Subedar Mizanur Rahman as the plaintiff and handed them over to the police.
Meanwhile, when Madan Police Station handed them over to the court around noon on Wednesday, the learned judge ordered them to be sent to Netrokona Prison.
