A locally made LG CNG car has been recovered from a special police check post in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar. Police have arrested a young man named Md. Mishal (21) in this incident. A locally made LG CNG car has been recovered from a special police check post in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar. Police have arrested a young man named Md. Mishal (21) in this incident.
The operation was conducted on the road in front of the Forest Office in the Ofispara area of Ward No. 4 of Choto Maheshkhali Union of Maheshkhali Upazila at around 6 pm on Tuesday (September 15).
Police said that a police team led by Maheshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdus Sultan, along with SI Saifur Rahman and SI Amit Bhattacharya, was on special check post duty there on the directions of the Superintendent of Police, Cox’s Bazar. At that time, a green CNG auto-rickshaw heading from Maheshkhali to Badarkhali was signaled to stop.
Police claim that the driver tried to flee after the CNG stopped, and police members detained him. Later, due to suspicion, the CNG auto-rickshaw was searched in front of the witnesses present. At that time, a domestically made LG was recovered from inside a shopping bag under the driver’s seat.
The arrested Mishal (21) is the son of Md. Mostaq and Shamsunnahar of Dakshin Nalbila area of Choto Maheshkhali Union.
Maheshkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdus Sultan said that a case has been filed in this incident and efforts are ongoing to arrest the absconding accused.
