A Seerat Mahfil and prize-giving ceremony was organised by the Mymensingh City unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at the Language Martyr Abdul Jabbar Auditorium of the District Council in the city on Saturday (September 12). Mymensingh City Jamaat Ameer Maulana Kamrul Ahsan Emrul chaired the programme. In his speech, Maulana Abdul Halim said society and the state are currently facing a serious moral and ideological crisis marked by injustice, exploitation, corruption and moral degradation. He said the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) provide guidance for overcoming such crises. Referring to the Prophet’s role in establishing a just society in Madinah, he stressed the importance of following his teachings in personal, social and state life. He further said Jamaat-e-Islami seeks to build a prosperous and justice-based society guided by the Quran and the Seerat of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He called upon its leaders and activists to work for social harmony, justice and public welfare.
