Banned Indian liquor seized in Durgapur police raid
Indian liquor has been seized in a special operation by the police of Durgapur police station on the border of Netrokona district. Netrokona Additional District Superintendent of Police (DSB) Hafizul Islam confirmed the matter at 11:45 am today, Sunday (September 6). Indian liquor has been seized in a special operation by the police of Durgapur police station on the border of Netrokona district.
Netrokona Additional District Superintendent of Police (DSB) Hafizul Islam confirmed the matter at 11:45 am today, Sunday (September 6).
According to police sources at Durgapur Police Station, around 12:00 on Saturday night (September 6), while conducting a special anti-drug operation and smuggling recovery duty, a team led by SI Asadul Islam, accompanied by Constables Md. Sajeeb Mia and Parvez Rana, along with the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Durgapur Police Station on the border of Netrokona district, was stationed at the Atraikhali Bridge when they came to know that some people were staying inside the house of absconding accused Abdur Rahman (53) in Menkiphanda area of Durgapur Union No. 2 under Durgapur Police Station for selling banned Indian-made liquor. Upon receiving this information, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khandaker Shaker Ahmed, accompanying officers and forces reached the spot to verify the truth of the incident and take legal action, but upon sensing the presence of the police, one of the accused ran away. Later, in front of the witnesses present, 7 bottles of ROYAL STAG 750 ml Indian-made liquor kept in a black traveling bag under the trunk inside the residence of the absconding accused Abdur Rahman (53) and 7 bottles of ROYAL STAG 750 ml Indian-made liquor kept in a jute bag, a total of 14 bottles of Indian liquor, with an estimated value of forty-two thousand taka. In this regard, all the liquor was recovered and seized on the basis of the original seizure list.
Durgapur Police Station OC Khandaker Shaker Ahmed said that legal action has been taken in this regard.
