The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has seized 25 kg of marijuana and 16 bottles of Escaf from Phulbari in Kurigram district. During this, the force has arrested four people for possession of drugs. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has seized 25 kg of marijuana and 16 bottles of Escaf from Phulbari in Kurigram district. During this, the force has arrested four people for possession of drugs. The arrested are Zahid Hasan alias Angur (28), son of Khalilur Rahman of Purba Gram (Kangaltari), present-day Dharmapur village, Mostafa Kamal (38), son of Moslem Uddin of Paschim Anantapur village, Mozammel Haque (43), son of the late Syed Ali, and Hazrat Ali (29), son of Moslem Uddin.
In continuation of the ongoing anti-drug operation of RAB, on September 4, 2026, at 06.30 am, a team of Sadar Company, RAB-13, Rangpur conducted a raid in Dharmapur village of Kashipur union under Phulbari police station of Kurigram district based on secret information. During the raid, a search was conducted at the under-construction house of the arrested accused Zahid Hasan alias Angur and 25 kg of ganja and 16 bottles of Escaf were seized. In addition, four drug peddlers were arrested for possession of drugs.
Initial interrogation revealed that the arrested accused have been involved in drug trafficking for a long time. RAB has filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act as the plaintiff in this incident. The arrested accused and the seized evidence have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action. In addition, as part of the implementation of the current government’s zero tolerance policy against drugs, RAB-13’s intelligence activities and ongoing operations continue.
