A drug addict boy has beaten up his mother for drug money in Khulna’s Paikgachha. In this incident, when the woman who was being beaten up tried to save her, the drug addict boy, Golam Rasul, stabbed and injured a neighbor, Sirajul Islam. At that time, local people caught Golam Rasul red-handed and handed him over to the police.
The incident took place at around 3:40 pm on Thursday at the residence of Golam Rasul in Chakkawali village of Chandkhali union of the upazila.
The injured youth, Sirajul Islam (30), is the son of Jamshed Gazi of the same village.
According to police and local sources, on the night of the incident, Golam Rasul was brutally beating his mother Rizia Begum for drug money. Neighbor Sirajul Islam immediately stepped forward to save his mother’s life and stop the fight. At that time, Golam Rasul, enraged, stabbed Sirajul with a sharp weapon in his hand, seriously injuring him.
Hearing Sirajul’s screams, people nearby rushed to the spot and rescued him. Later, he was rushed to the Upazila Health Complex in a bloody state. After receiving primary treatment there, when his condition deteriorated, the doctors on duty referred him to Khulna Medical College Hospital (Khumec) for better treatment.
Meanwhile, immediately after the incident, the local people gathered, arrested the accused Golam Rasul and handed him over to the police station.
In this regard, Paikgachha Police Station said that after the arrest of the accused, interrogation is underway at the police station and the process of taking legal action in this incident is underway.
