Dean’s Award and Merit Award have been given to the students who achieved outstanding results in the final examination of Bachelor (Honours)/BBA of the departments under the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Business Studies of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur for the academic year 2020-2021 and B.Sc (Engineering) of the departments under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the academic year 2019-2020. Today, Tuesday (01 September 2026) afternoon, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shawkat Ali, as the chief guest, presented mementos, certificates and cheques to the students of the departments under the above faculties in the conference room of the university’s administrative building.

In his speech, he congratulated the meritorious students and said that today’s achievement is a recognition of the hard work and talent of the students. The main purpose of education is not only to achieve good results, but also to use the acquired knowledge and skills for the benefit of the country and world humanity. The Vice Chancellor said that the inspiration of achieving honors and certificates will take the students far ahead. Students must play a leading role in building a new Bangladesh and a modern world with honesty, patriotism and a research-oriented mentality. He further said that the university administration is always committed to ensuring a supportive environment for higher education and quality research.

For the second time, the university administration awarded Dean’s Award-2025/2026 to 3 students of the academic year 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 and Merit Award-2025/2026 to 15 students. Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Professor Dr. Nur Alam Siddique, Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr. Bijan Mohan Chaki, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr. Suman Kumar Debnath, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Nitai Kumar Ghosh, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences Professor Dr. Emdadul Haque, Proctor Professor Dr. Ferdous Rahman, Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Tabiur Rahman Pradhan, students and guardians spoke at the event.
