Businessman Al-Amin murdered in Jessore Main accused Tutul arrested, knife recovered
The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested Safiar Rahman Tutul (28), the main absconding accused in the murder case of gold trader Al-Amin Hossain (29) in Jessore. Based on the information provided by him, a switchgear knife used in the murder has also been recovered. The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has arrested Safiar Rahman Tutul (28), the main absconding accused in the murder case of gold trader Al-Amin Hossain (29) in Jessore. Based on the information provided by him, a switchgear knife used in the murder has also been recovered.
A team of PBI Jessore arrested Tutul from Churamonkati area of Jessore Sadar Upazila on Wednesday (September 2) morning. Later, at around 12:30 pm, the knife was recovered from the sunshade of the window of a semi-detached house behind the Nazirshankarpur Cold Storage in the city, as per the location he indicated.
PBI Jessore said that on August 20, around 3:30 pm, gold trader Al-Amin was attacked by miscreants in the Lichutala area of Barandipara while returning home from his shop at the intersection. He was later found bleeding in a mahogany garden behind the Lichutala Madrasa. He died before being taken to the hospital.
The victim’s mother filed a case with Kotwali Model Police Station in this incident. A case was filed under Sections 302/34 of the Penal Code in the case filed on August 21. Later, the PBI took over the investigation of the case.
Following the investigation, Golam Rasul (30), the accused in the case, was arrested on August 26 and handed over to the court. Then, based on information technology and intelligence information, Tutul’s location was identified and he was arrested on Wednesday.
Jessore PBI claims that during the initial interrogation, Tutul confessed to his involvement in the murder. He will be handed over to the court after the interrogation.
The PBI also said that efforts are underway to identify and arrest other accomplices involved in the murder. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
The operation was led by PBI Jessore SI Md. Masud. He was accompanied by SI Milan Mia and other PBI members. The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of PBI Jessore Police Superintendent (promoted to the post of Additional DIG) Md. Kamruzzaman.
