The Gazipur Agricultural University Teachers’ Association (GAUTA) has extended its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday (August 22), signed by Professor Dr. Nasrin Akter Ivy, President of the Gazipur Agricultural University Teachers’ Association, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Saiful Alam, General Secretary, the association conveyed its greetings to the newly elected President.
The message described his election to the country’s highest constitutional office as a significant chapter in Bangladesh’s political and democratic history. It highlighted his extensive political experience, strong public engagement and steadfast leadership in the struggle for democratic rights.
The association leaders expressed hope that, as President, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir would play an impartial, wise and responsible role in upholding the dignity of the Constitution, strengthening the country’s constitutional institutions, and ensuring the rights and dignity of all citizens.
The congratulatory message also expressed expectations that higher education and research, improvement of the academic environment, academic freedom and autonomy of universities, and the legitimate rights and dignity of teachers would receive due importance at the national level.
The leaders further expressed their expectation that the newly elected President would play an important and constructive role in upholding the country’s independence and sovereignty, democratic values, rule of law and national unity, while properly fulfilling the constitutional responsibilities of his office.
The Gazipur Agricultural University Teachers’ Association wished the newly elected President good health, long life and success. It also expressed hope that peace, stability and economic prosperity in the country would be further strengthened under his leadership.
