One person was killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Jessore. Two of the injured have been referred to Dhaka as their condition is critical. Nesar Uddin (60) was killed and Anik (23) and Zia (55) were seriously injured when a mini pickup hit the back of a covered van parked in Hamidpur area of Jessore-Narail road at around 4 am on Wednesday (August 19). One person was killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Jessore. Two of the injured have been referred to Dhaka as their condition is critical.
Nesar Uddin (60) was killed and Anik (23) and Zia (55) were seriously injured when a mini pickup hit the back of a covered van parked in Hamidpur area of Jessore-Narail road at around 4 am on Wednesday (August 19). All of them are residents of Ilatganj area of Daudkandi upazila of Comilla.
It is learned that when the mini pickup truck, which was heading to Satkhira from Comilla, reached Hamidpur area, it lost control and hit the back of a covered van standing on the road. The cabin of the pickup truck was twisted and three people were seriously injured. Locals rescued them and took them to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor Nesar Uddin declared him dead. The injured Anik and Zia have been referred to Dhaka for better treatment. The body of the deceased has been kept in the hospital morgue.
On the other hand, a young man named Tanmoy Debnath (28) was injured after falling from his bicycle in Gangra area of Monirampur upazila around 9 am. He lost control while riding his bicycle without a helmet and fell on the paved road. His family members rescued him and admitted him to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital.
