A mysterious incident has emerged in Paikgachha regarding beef. It has been alleged that beef purchased from Paikgachha meat market turns green within just two minutes of cooking. At the same time, the water color of the meat turns black while washing it.
It is learnt that the employees of Modern Bakery purchased refrigerated beef from Ismail Kassai, a trader at Paikgachha Meat Market. They bought a total of 3 kg 900 grams of meat for the picnic.
The matter quickly came to the attention of locals after they noticed this unusual change while cooking the meat. Later, the meat was taken to Paikgachha police station. The meat is currently in the custody of the police station.
Ismail, a meat seller at the city market, said, “I sold meat to many people on Wednesday morning, but no one except the people from Modern Bakery has complained so far. I have not used anything in the meat. I have been selling beef with a good reputation in the city market for 15 years. I think that the colors or chemicals used in the various products at Modern Bakery may have been added to the meat by mistake while cooking it, which may have turned the meat green.”
Confirming the incident, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Paikgachha police station said that the matter is being viewed with great seriousness. The police have already started investigating the incident. The process of sending the meat samples to the laboratory (lab) is underway. Once the test report comes, it will be confirmed whether this happened due to chemical poisoning or adulteration.
Meanwhile, there has been extreme anger and fear among locals over whether low-quality meat or meat containing harmful chemicals is being sold in the market. Locals have demanded that strict legal action be taken against those responsible by revealing the real cause of the mystery through quick lab tests.
