CPGCBL provides relief assistance to 700 flood-affected families in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar
Coal Power Generation Company Bangladesh Limited (CPGCBL) has distributed relief materials to about 700 families in Matarbari and Dhalghata unions of Maheshkhali upazila of Cox's Bazar who were affected by floods caused by continuous heavy rains. Humanitarian assistance was provided on July 19 and 20 under the social responsibility program of the company's 'Matarbari 2×600 MW Ultra Super Critical Coal Fired Power Plant'. Coal Power Generation Company Bangladesh Limited (CPGCBL) has distributed relief materials to about 700 families in Matarbari and Dhalghata unions of Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar who were affected by floods caused by continuous heavy rains.
Humanitarian assistance was provided on July 19 and 20 under the social responsibility program of the company’s ‘Matarbari 2×600 MW Ultra Super Critical Coal Fired Power Plant’.
CPGCBL said that due to the lack of preparation opportunities in the affected areas due to flash floods, many families are facing extreme hardship. Considering that situation, the company is distributing relief in three packages.
The first package contains rice, pulses, oil, potatoes, onions, salt, matches and candles. The second package contains chira, muri and biscuits. The third package contains orsaline, water purification tablets, essential medicines and skin protection cream.
CPGCBL Chief Engineer (Operations and Conservation) (Additional Duty) Mohammad Monowar Hossain Majumder, Superintending Engineer (Municipality) Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Manager (Finance and Accounts) Md. Tofazzal Hossain, Manager (HRM and Admin) Sheikh Sajjadur Rahman, Panel Chairman of Matarbari Union Parishad No. 1 Mizbah Uddin Majidi, Member of Ward No. 8 Mohammad Ali, other company officials, local public representatives and dignitaries were present at the relief distribution ceremony.
At this time, the company expressed its gratitude to the local administration, public representatives, and Team Aliza, relief committee members, and volunteers who cooperated in the relief activities.
