Jagannath Dev Rath Yatra Festival held in Thakurgaon
Discussion meetings and cultural programs were held in Thakurgaon on the occasion of the Rath Yatra festival of Sri Sri Jagannath Dev. On Thursday afternoon, a discussion meeting was held at the Jagannath Temple in the Gobindanagar Mandir Para area of the city, organized by the International Krishna Consciousness Society ISKCON Thakurgaon. Discussion meetings and cultural programs were held in Thakurgaon on the occasion of the Rath Yatra festival of Sri Sri Jagannath Dev.
On Thursday afternoon, a discussion meeting was held at the Jagannath Temple in the Gobindanagar Mandir Para area of the city, organized by the International Krishna Consciousness Society ISKCON Thakurgaon.
The discussion meeting was chaired by Shrimat Bhakti Binoy Swami Maharaj, Vice President of ISKCON-Bangladesh and Principal of Thakurgaon ISKCON Temple. Thakurgaon District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, General Secretary Paygam Ali, Organizing Secretary Zafrullah, Professor Monotosh Kumar Dey, District Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Welfare Front President Manoranjan Singh, Sadar Upazila BNP President Abdul Hamid and others spoke at the meeting.
Later, a huge procession left the Jagannath Temple. The procession circled the important roads of the city and returned to the same place, ending the first day of the Rath Yatra.
On the occasion of the Rath Yatra festival, the temple premises began with worship in the morning and the priests lit the fire to wish for the well-being of all the people of the country. Numerous women and men of the Hindu community participated there. Later, Mahaprasad was distributed among the devotees.
Also, at noon, two separate chariots left the central Sri Sri Govinda Ji Temple and Ram Temple in Thakurgaon Sadar Municipality and circled several streets of the city before ending at the same place.
