State Minister for Social Welfare Barrister
Farzana Sharmin Putul took special initiative to prevent irregularities and
corruption in the special allocation development project. She appealed to the public
from the beginning of the project to understand the work of their respective areas.
Besides, she gave instructions for the formation of special project monitoring
committee. Later, a special project monitoring committee was formed with
government officials, public representatives and private individuals.
It has been informed that in the financial year 2025-2026, the special allocation of
the State Minister for Social Welfare Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul has been
made through 179 projects under the program of money in exchange for work
(kabita), food in exchange for work (kabikha) and housing development projects
through TR program and development assistance in ADP through 179 projects,
educational institutions, religious and social institutions, unpaved road renovation
and road HBB (herringbone bond). Of these, 163 projects were implemented by
the Upazila Project Implementation Officer's office and 16 projects were
implemented by the Upazila Engineer's office. 2 crore 88 lakhs, 86 thousand 53
taka and 69.350 million tons of rice and 70.350 million tons of wheat have been
spent in the implementation of the project, according to the related departments.
Upazila nirbahi officer Barkat Ullah said that according to the instructions of the
State Minister of Social Welfare, a special project monitoring committee was
formed with government officials, public representatives and private individuals.
The committee inspected educational institutions, mosques, temples, graveyards,
crematoriums, unpaved road renovation and road HBB construction projects in a
municipality and 10 unions of the upazila, verified the correctness of the work and
forced the contractors to change it if poor quality materials were used.
Locals said that due to the strict supervision of the project implementation, the
contractors did not have the courage to make irregularities in the work. The Special
Project Monitoring Committee monitored the bricking and sanding of the HBB
road and proper bricking at the lower level. They applauded the initiative of the
state minister.

Shahinur Rahman, a member of the special project monitoring committee, said that
we have given daily updates to the state minister after inspecting various projects.
Contractor Kawsar Hossain said that we have tried to do the best work as per the
instructions of the State Minister of Social Welfare.
Upazila Engineer Awlad Hossain said that we have tried to ensure that the work of
the whole project is done according to the rules.
Upazila Project Implementation Officer Masudur Rahman said that we have
regularly supervised the implementation of the project as per the instructions of the
State Minister.
State Minister of Social Welfare Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul said that any
kind of irregularities and corruption will not be accepted in the development
activities of the area. If any kind of irregularity or corruption is proved, action will
be taken immediately. No one will be allowed to usurp the rights of the people.
