On Thursday morning (July 9), Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman inaugurated the day by releasing balloons at the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Later, a rally took out and after a road parade, a discussion meeting was held in the meeting room of the Deputy Commissioner. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman spoke as the chief guest at the meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Nuzhat Tasnim Aon. Assistant Director of the Department of Environment District Office Abdullah Al Mamun delivered the welcome speech. Additional Superintendent of Police ABM Faizul Islam was the special guest. Among others, BSCIC District Office Deputy Manager Nurel Haque, Classical Handmade BD Limited Assistant General Manager Asaduzzaman Asad, Nasib District President Abdul Momen spoke.

In his speech as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman said, “We all have to be diligent in protecting the environment. The administrator will take necessary measures to ensure that industrial plants comply with the rules to prevent environmental pollution.”

Later, 14 children who won a drawing competition held with children on the occasion of Environment Day were given tree saplings and crests. In addition to government officials, NGO representatives, media workers, and environmental activists participated in the program, which was a joint initiative of the district administration and the Department of Environment.
