BGB holds public awareness meeting: Call for unity to prevent drugs and smuggling
A public awareness meeting was held in Yusufpur Union on the initiative of Yusufpur BOP of Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB). Yusufpur BOP Company Commander Subedar Md. Saiful Islam was present as the chief guest at the event, which was organized to increase awareness among the local people, strengthen border security and prevent drug and smuggling. A public awareness meeting was held in Yusufpur Union on the initiative of Yusufpur BOP of Rajshahi Battalion (1 BGB). Yusufpur BOP Company Commander Subedar Md. Saiful Islam was present as the chief guest at the event, which was organized to increase awareness among the local people, strengthen border security and prevent drug and smuggling.
He said, “BGB is always active to prevent various smuggling activities including cattle, drugs, and fertilizers at the border. Our members are working tirelessly day and night. Ensuring service to the people of this country is our responsibility – we are here to stand by you.”
He further said, “Drugs destroy society. Everyone must unite against drugs. It is not possible for the BGB alone to prevent this – it is not possible to build a drug-free society without the cooperation of the people.”
This meeting was not just a formality, but rather a symbol of peace, awareness and compassion on the border. Everyone expressed hope that such a humanitarian initiative by the BGB would further establish the message of security and coexistence in the society in the future.
Local dignitaries, teachers, students, and media personnel from Yusufpur Union were present at the discussion meeting.
