As part of the continuous public welfare activities of the Bangladesh Army to protect the environment, increase greening and combat the adverse effects of climate change, the Khagrachhari Sadar Zone has inaugurated and colorful rally of “Tree Plantation Campaign-2026” at the Khagrachhari Government College campus.

Brigadier General K. M. Obaidul Haque, ndc, AFWC, psc, Commander, 203 Infantry Brigade and Khagrachhari Region was present as the chief guest at the event.

In his speech as the chief guest, the Region Commander said,
“Tree plantation is not just planting trees, it is a commitment to protect the balance of the environment, preserve biodiversity and build a green and habitable world for future generations.” He laid special emphasis on increasing environmental awareness among everyone, plastic waste management and compost fertilizer production.

Khagrachari District BNP General Secretary M. N. Absar, Joint Secretary Mosharraf Hossain, Organizing Secretary Abdur Rob Raja, District Volunteer Party Member Secretary Nur Mohammad Hridoy, and District Chhatra Dal Former President Shahed Hossain Sumon were present.

In addition, various district officials, representatives of the district administration, members of civil society, teachers and students of various educational institutions, local dignitaries and people from different classes and professions participated in the program.

The speakers at the program emphasized the importance of tree plantation to protect the environment, conserve biodiversity, increase greening and build a livable Bangladesh for future generations. At this time, the official inauguration of the “Tree Plantation Campaign-2026” added a new dimension to the ongoing greening activities across the country.

Later, a tree plantation program, distribution of saplings of various species of fruit, forest and medicinal trees and a colorful rally were held with the participation of the guests present.
