State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit said that the current government has taken a comprehensive action plan to make the education system enjoyable. Those involved in the teaching profession know this.
He said that after entering school, teachers become like their parents. Just as parents raise their children through love and kindness, teachers also raise our children in the same way and develop them into people with real values.
He said this in his speech as the chief guest at the inauguration of the newly constructed six-storey academic building of Jessore Government Girls High School today, Saturday (June 20). After inaugurating the building, the State Minister planted a tree in the school yard.
He said that the current government has taken the initiative to involve students in extra-curricular activities, i.e. sports and cultural activities, in addition to reading and writing. For this purpose, twenty new sports have been introduced. Inter-school poetry recitation, story telling, public speaking, and debate competitions will be held in the coming days. The activities of the Shishu Academy will start anew.
A third language will be introduced in the school along with Bangla and English. The uncompromising national leader, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, made education free for girls up to Intermediate. The current Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken the initiative to make education free for girls up to Honors.
The program was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashek Hasan, Superintendent of Police Syed Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Director of Jessore Local Government Department Rafiqul Hasan, District BNP President Adv. Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, General Secretary and District Council Administrator Delwar Hossain Khokon, Acting Headmaster of Government Girls High School Sohel Uddin, President of Press Club Jessore Zahid Hasan Tukun, etc.
It is worth noting that the building was constructed under the management of the Department of Education Engineering at a cost of 6 crore 43 lakh 59 thousand 900 taka. The six-storey building has classrooms, multi-purpose hall rooms, lab rooms, library rooms, teacher common rooms, student common rooms. A solar system and rain protection devices have been installed on the roof of the building.
