The prices of various fish have increased in the past few days due to the decrease in the supply of fish at this fish market.
Traders say that various retail fish traders in the district town buy fish from this fish market and take it to various markets in the district. Since the last few days, the fish market has reduced its supply, so the price of fish is slightly higher than before. In the past week, the price of various fish has increased by 10 to 20 taka per kg.
Today, Tuesday (June 16), in the new market, the price of Rui fish is being sold from Arat at 300 to 400 taka per kg, Katla at 400 to 420 taka, Tilapia at 180 to 200 taka, Pangas at 160 to 170 taka, and Sing-Magur fish at 300 to 400 taka, Sarputi at 160 to 180 taka. In addition, the price of other fish and small fish has also increased.
Retailer Naresh Chandra said that since the last one week, the supply of fish in the market has decreased, and the supply of domestic fish in the market has also decreased due to the decrease in water in canals, beels and rivers. Due to which the prices of all fish have increased.
