Magura's newly appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Motakabbir Ahmed was rushed to Dhaka by air ambulance due to a sudden severe physical illness. He was taken to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment at around 3:30 pm today, Monday. However, doctors have confirmed that he is currently out of danger and stable. Magura’s newly appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Motakabbir Ahmed was rushed to Dhaka by air ambulance due to a sudden severe physical illness. He was taken to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment at around 3:30 pm today, Monday. However, doctors have confirmed that he is currently out of danger and stable.
According to the district administration and local medical sources, the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner suddenly felt seriously ill on Sunday night (June 14). Later, a special medical board was formed under the leadership of Magura Civil Surgeon Dr. Shamim Kabir and under the supervision of Dr. Mohsin Uddin Fakir, Superintendent of the 250-bed hospital.
DC was given first aid under the close supervision of the medical board.
As his physical condition deteriorated, the doctors decided to urgently send him to Dhaka by Bangladesh Air Force’s air ambulance helicopter for better treatment.
Magura Civil Surgeon Dr. Shamim Kabir said, the Deputy Commissioner fell ill due to increased acidity levels in his body. He was also taken to Dhaka for advanced treatment due to some physical complications. However, his condition is stable and he is out of danger.
Sources said that the Deputy Commissioner was undergoing treatment in room 308 (rest area) on the third floor of the new building of Magura Sadar Hospital. He felt unwell on Sunday night after attending some government programs. Later, when his physical condition deteriorated, he was admitted to the hospital.
Upon receiving news of his illness, Magura Sadar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Meherunnahar, District BNP Joint Convener Ahsan Habib Kishore, Municipal BNP President Masud Hasan Khan Kizil, Magura Press Club President Professor Abu Sayeed, General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Shafiq and other people from different walks of life inquired about his illness.
