As part of the program announced by the Honorable Prime Minister to plant 250 million trees in five years across the country, a tree plantation program has been organized by the Brahmanbaria District Council. The program was officially inaugurated by planting saplings on the District Council premises on Saturday, June 13.
Brahmanbaria District Council Administrator and District BNP General Secretary Alhaj Sirajul Islam Siraj was present as the chief guest at the tree plantation program.
The event was attended by special guests and others, including the acting CEO of the District Council, Abdul Qadir Mia, District BNP Senior Organizing Secretary Asaduzzaman Shahin, recently former Central Jubo Dal Comilla Divisional Organizing Secretary VP Tajul, District BNP Publicity Secretary Mahin Mohammad, Co-Organizing Secretary Nasir Ahmed and Co-Volunteer Affairs Secretary Joynal Khan, along with district and local level leaders.
In his speech as the chief guest, Alhaj Sirajul Islam Siraj said, “There is no alternative to tree plantation to maintain environmental balance and combat the harmful effects of climate change. The District Council is determined to make this great initiative of the Honorable Prime Minister a success.” He called on the people of all walks of life in the district to join this green revolution by planting at least one fruit, forest and medicinal sapling from their respective locations.
After the discussion meeting, the program was inaugurated by planting saplings of various species in the area around the District Council office.
