The current government’s election pledge to protect the environment and strengthen climate resilience, ‘Plant 250 million trees in 5 years’, inaugurated the nationwide tree plantation program by planting trees in the Malumghat Reserve Forest of Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar, Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, MP. The tree plantation program was organized by the Rajshahi City Corporation as part of the nationwide tree plantation program by the Honorable Prime Minister. On Saturday afternoon, the Honorable Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation, Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, was present at the tree plantation program at Kashiadanga intersection in Rajshahi metropolis.

At that time, RASIC Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said, as part of the implementation of the election manifesto of the current government led by Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, a 250,000 tree plantation program has been taken up across Rajshahi city. Of this, about 53,000 tree planting activities have started in the first phase. Various species of flowers, fruit trees, forest and medicinal trees are being planted to increase the greenness of the city, protect the balance of the environment and enhance its beauty.

Urging the city residents to plant trees, the RASIC administrator said, “Let each of us plant at least one tree sapling. Let us all together make Rajshahi a greener, cleaner, more environmentally friendly, and healthier city.”
