Renowned culinary artist and pastry specialist Meherun Akter Mary has emerged as one of Bangladesh’s most recognized faces in the international culinary arena, earning prestigious awards, serving as an international judge, and representing the country at major global food competitions and events. Mary’s remarkable journey has been marked by a series of national and international achievements. In February 2023, she won a Silver Medal at the International Culinary World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in the dessert and confectionery category. The same year, she received the Best Confectionery Award in recognition of her innovation and excellence in pastry and dessert creation. Her success story continued when she became the National Champion of the Ahmad Ready Mix Biryani Expert Competition in Bangladesh in December 2022. In 2024, she was honored with the International Judge Award by the Royal Bengal Master Chef Organization, further establishing her reputation in the professional culinary community. Beyond competitions, Mary has played a significant role in judging prestigious culinary events across Asia. She served as a Jury Board Member at the South Asia International Culinary Arts Competition in Kolkata in 2023 and later represented Bangladesh as a competitor at the same event in 2024. In 2025, she joined the International Judge Panel at the Afyon Culinary Cup in Turkey and participated as a culinary guest and professional representative at the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association UNESCO Event in Ho Chi Minh City. Most recently, Mary served as an Official International Judge at the Indian Culinary Premier League (ICPL) 2026 in Kolkata, a government-approved culinary competition that attracted chefs and culinary professionals from different countries. Since 2022, she has become a familiar face on Bangladesh’s leading television channels, appearing on more than a dozen national networks including NTV, BTV, GTV, Channel 24, Bangla Vision, Jamuna TV, Dipto TV, ATN Bangla, and Nexus TV. Currently, Meherun Akter Mary serves as a Culinary Consultant at Khalil Culinary Arts Center in Dhaka, where she provides professional training, develops innovative recipes, conducts culinary workshops, and mentors aspiring chefs. She is also working as a Pastry and Bakery Chef at Shawarma House, focusing on product development, quality improvement, and staff training. Her professional background includes serving as a Pastry and Bakery Trainer at RBMCO Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata, from 2019 to 2024, and gaining practical industry experience through internship and training programs at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka. Mary’s commitment to culinary excellence is further reflected in her international training credentials. She successfully completed professional culinary programs at Le Cordon Bleu Dusit, Bangkok, in 2024 and Le Cordon Bleu London, United Kingdom, in 2025—two of the world’s most prestigious culinary institutions.
