Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, NDC, AFWC, PSC, Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Department, has called for efforts to enhance the reputation of the organization by performing their respective duties with transparency. He said these things at a darbar program organized at the Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters on June 7 at 10:00 am with all levels of officers and employees. Directors, project directors and all levels of officers and employees working in Dhaka, including directors, were present in the darbar. In addition, divisional deputy directors of all departments, district officers and fire station officers participated in the darbar program online from their respective workplaces. Upon arriving at the ceremony at 10:00 AM, the Director General was handed over the darbar by Director (Training, Planning and Development) Lt. Col. MA Azad Anwar, PSC. After that, readings were conducted from the holy scriptures. The Director General welcomed everyone and started the meeting. He instructed everyone to maintain the honor of the organization by maintaining service discipline and performing their respective duties with transparency. He sought everyone’s cooperation to keep the upcoming recruitment process transparent and corruption-free like last year’s recruitment process. He instructed everyone to be vigilant so that no member of the force is involved in any unethical activities in recruitment matters. At the same time, he emphasized on informing all the orders and instructions of the department in this regard to all the members of the force at all levels. The Director General sought everyone’s sincere cooperation to maintain the transparency that has been established in the transfer process at all levels of the Fire Service and Civil Defense. In addition, he instructed everyone to follow the prevailing laws and regulations when using social media. He informed everyone that if any member of the force is involved in spreading illegal content that tarnishes the reputation of the force, action will be taken against him according to the prevailing law. He also presented information on various welfare activities. After the speech, the Director General patiently listened to the opinions of the officials and employees at various levels who were present in person and connected online and answered their various questions. The darbar program was declared over at 12 noon.
