Earlier on June 2, Bablu Talukder, the owner of ‘Bablu Engineering’, held a press conference alleging attacks on the same property.
In a written statement, Sayad Hossain said that his father, the late Abdus Salam Sardar (Habi Sardar), did not sell or deed any property during his lifetime. After his father’s death, they inherited 164.50 acres of land in the old Kasba Mouza, No. 93 of Jessore Kotwali Police Station. This valuable property includes various structures including a multi-storey building, a business establishment and a fish farm.
He further mentioned that Bablu Talukdar was actually just a tenant of their land. Due to his father’s affection, Bablu borrowed 50 lakh taka from his father at various times, which his father had told his family members before his death.
Sayad Hossain alleged that after his father’s death, an influential group including Asaduzzaman, Bablu Talukder, Anisur Rahman, Yasin and AKM Atikuzzaman Chani started plotting to seize the land. When they approached the court to protect their ancestral property from the group, the court imposed a ban on the land concerned. Later, the verdict in the appeal court also came in their favor. Currently, two separate civil cases are pending in the Joint District Judge First Court demanding the cancellation of a ‘suspicious document’ they claimed.
It was informed at the press conference that Bablu Talukder, after being a tenant for a long time, stopped paying rent at one point and claimed false ownership. Despite legal notices and administrative initiatives, he did not vacate the premises.
On May 24 and 26, when they went to build a wall on their ancestral land, Bablu and his men armed with indigenous weapons attacked and vandalized the construction work. The family filed a general diary (GD) with the police station in this incident.
At the press conference, Sayad Hossain expressed his anger against Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Saiful Islam and said that SI Saiful has shown extreme bias and misused his power. He filed a false case against their family through Bablu Talukder. Not only that, Sayad Hossain, his brother and father-in-law were called to the police station and shown as arrested in that case and sent to jail. Later, they were released on bail by the court. After being released, he held this press conference.
Wasima Labiba, Shahida Salam, Billal Hossain, Ziaul Haque, Zahura Haque, Shahidul Islam, Nazrul Islam, Shamsur Rahman and Asadul Islam were present at the press conference, among others.
It is worth mentioning that earlier on June 2, Bablu Talukder, the owner of ‘Bablu Engineering’, held a press conference against this party regarding the same property. He claimed that they had bought the land from Sayad Hossain’s father. He has all the necessary documents in his favor. After the father’s death, Sayad and other family members are trying to take possession of the land. In this regard, an attack and vandalism took place at Bablu Engineering Workshop. A case was filed in this incident and three people including Sayad were arrested.
