Rajshahi Metropolitan and District BNP have taken up various day-long programs to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of martyr President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, the great proclaimer of independence and advocate of multi-party democracy.
On Saturday (May 30) morning, the national flag was hoisted in front of the BNP office in Malopara, along with the party flag, which was kept at half-mast and a black flag was hoisted. Later, prayers and supplications were offered for the martyred President Ziaur Rahman and his family.
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, District Council Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Ershad Ali Isha, Metropolitan BNP President Mamun Or Rashid, Senior Vice President Nazrul Huda and other party leaders were present at the program. Later, Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu was the chief guest at a discussion program on the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Zia organized by the District BNP at a community center in the city. District BNP convener Abu Said Chand MP presided over the program.
