A discussion meeting and prayer mahfil was organized by Jessore District Chhatra Dal on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Ziaur Rahman, the founder of multi-party democracy in Bangladesh, the architect of modern Bangladesh and martyred President. The mahfil was organized at the Jessore District BNP office on Sunday (May 31).
Jessore District Council Administrator Delwar Hossain Khokon was present as the chief guest at the prayer meeting. Jessore District BNP President Syed Saberul Haque Sabu spoke as the chief speaker and special guest at the event.
The speakers at the event remembered with deep respect the political philosophy of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, his unforgettable contribution in protecting the country’s independence, sovereignty and establishing democracy. At the same time, the speakers called on the Chhatra Dal to work unitedly for the welfare of the country and the world by keeping his ideals in mind.
The event, chaired by Jessore District Chhatra Dal Convener Kamruzzaman and moderated by Member Secretary Shah Newaz Imran, was also attended by senior joint conveners Benazir Biswas, Hasan Imam, Rabiul Islam Tipu, Alamgir Hossain Liton, Masud Kaiser Isti, and leaders and activists from all levels of the district Chhatra Dal and various units.
At the end of the discussion meeting, a special prayer was offered seeking forgiveness for the soul of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. In the prayer, prayers were offered to the Almighty Allah for the well-being of the country, nation and party.
