Two people were killed and one injured in a motorcycle accident in Kalai, Joypurhat, while they were going to a relative’s house for Eid. The accident occurred on Monday, June 1 (approximately 12 noon) in the Kharikata area of ​​the Nishchinta-Shirtree regional road.

The deceased are Emon Sarkar (29), son of Tajul Islam Khandaker of Sarail village in Kalai upazila, and his cousin-in-law Ferdous (13), son of Shamsul Islam of Harunja village. Emon’s wife Suraiya is injured and is undergoing treatment at Kalai Hospital. According to the police station and local sources, Emon Sarkar, his wife and brother-in-law Ferdous set off on a motorcycle to visit a relative’s house in Shalaipur on the occasion of Eid. When they reached Kharikata area on the way, the motorcycle lost control and fell on the road. At that time, Emon Sarkar and Ferdous were crushed by the wheels of a pickup van coming from the opposite direction, killing them on the spot. Emon’s wife Suraiya Akhter was injured.
