BNP leader Masud Rana has formally announced his candidacy for the post of mayor in the upcoming elections of Nabinagar Municipality in Brahmanbaria. He made the announcement at a meeting with local journalists and exchanging Eid greetings at a hotel in the upazila's Sadar on Monday (May 25) afternoon. BNP leader Masud Rana has formally announced his candidacy for the post of mayor in the upcoming elections of Nabinagar Municipality in Brahmanbaria. He made the announcement at a meeting with local journalists and exchanging Eid greetings at a hotel in the upazila’s Sadar on Monday (May 25) afternoon.
Masud Rana is currently a member of Brahmanbaria District BNP and serving as the General Secretary of Nabinagar Municipality BNP.
At the meeting, he said, “The Nabinagar Municipality elections are going to be held soon. I am officially announcing that I will run as a candidate for the post of mayor of Nabinagar Municipality in the upcoming elections. For this, I seek the prayers, love and cooperation of the people of Nabinagar Municipality.”
He further said, “In the last parliamentary elections, journalists played an important role by rising above party affiliation and standing by my leader, former district BNP convener and Nabinagar Upazila BNP president Advocate MA Mannan. As a worker of his ideology, I hope that you will also stand by me.”
Highlighting his political ideology and future plans, Masud Rana said, “I have been doing politics believing in the ideology of BNP since my student days. As long as I live, I will do politics based on the ideology of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.”
He further said, if elected by the people, he will work to develop Nabinagar Municipality as a modern and model municipality under the advice and guidance of MP Advocate MA Mannan.
Senior journalists from Nabinagar and leaders of various journalist organizations were present at the event.
