On the other hand, Rajshahi City Corporation Engineer (CO) Md. Rezaul Karim has clarified his position on the matter. He said that since the city defense dam block falls under the jurisdiction of the Water Development Board, it is their responsibility to look into the matter. Still, he said that they will send people to investigate and take necessary measures.

When asked, Rajshahi Development Board (PAUBO) Deputy Assistant Engineer, Md. Abu Hurayra said, “The matter has already come to our attention. Letters have been sent to the illegal occupants. All illegal structures will be demolished in phases.”
