Shyamoli City Group has established several industrial institutions in Saidpur,

up by the late Shyamoli Rani Das, a famous business leader in Saidpur Upazila, the gateway to the northern town.
It was her inspiration while she was alive that Shyamoli City Group was established to make helpless families self-
reliant to solve the unemployment problem in the society.
Shyamoli City Group, which has set a unique example of owner-worker collaboration in product production, has
been established in Kalabagan area of ​​Kamarpukur Union of Saidpur Upazila. The group, which is established on
about 25 acres of land, consists of Ranu Agro Industries Limited, Shyamoli Sheet Mills Limited, Shyamoli Roofing
Sheet Limited, City Ispat Limited and City Traders Limited. These companies have employed more than 5,000 male
and female workers. Almost half of them are female workers.
Ranu Agro Industries, one of the group's companies, is exporting quality jute products to 25 countries around the
world, including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya, earning foreign exchange and also meeting the needs
of the country. In addition, cement sheet corrugated tin, UPVC colored sheet, and various colored steel corrugated
tin are being produced in various factories of the industrial group. As a result of the production of these products,
it is also able to meet the domestic demand.
On Wednesday (May 20), a tour of the company's various factories showed the workers busy with their work.
Some were making jute sacks, some were cutting and arranging jute sacks. They were also busy with printing and
other tasks. We spoke to Salma (45) of Ranu Agro Industries, Rashida (42) of Shyamoli Cement Sheet, Aminul (39)
of Shyamoli Roofing Sheet, and Shahidul Islam (36) of City Ispat Limited. They said that thousands of men and
women from Syedpur and surrounding districts and upazilas have been employed in these companies. They are
tirelessly performing their duties here. They said that if we face any problem, the company's owners listen to our
problems and provide all the facilities as per the rules.
A first aid center can be seen inside the factory. A few workers can be seen there. They said that if they feel sick,
they get first aid here. If necessary, the company sends them to Saidpur or Rangpur for advanced treatment. In
case of long-term treatment, the company bears all the expenses of the workers and employees.
Regarding safety, the workers and employees said that their safety is very good. They receive regular salaries and
other allowances, including festivals. They said that there is a prayer room for them inside the factory. Iftar and
Sehri are also arranged here during the month of Ramadan at the company's expense. Apart from this, the owner
also cooperates in various religious festivals.
Sushanta Kumar, one of the directors of Shyamoli City Group, said, "I have come to this position today because of
my mother, the late Shyamoli Rani Das. During her lifetime, she said to help helpless people through employment.
She always gave various suggestions. Shyamoli City Group was established to fulfill her wishes."
The chairman of the organization, Ananya Saha, said that the founder of the group was the late Shyamoli Rani Das.
Its current managing director is Sushil Kumar Das. He said that their goal is not only to make business profits, but
also to improve the quality of life of the backward sections of the society through industrialization. Therefore, we
are engaged in human service by creating employment. Stating that ensuring the healthcare of workers and
employees and their fair rights is the highest priority of our organization, he said, creating a worker-friendly work
environment, where workers, employees and officers are all guaranteed respect, safety and welfare.
