Speaking on behalf of the worshippers at the press conference, Dulalkandi Khasa Baper Bari Sunni Jame Mosque advisor Ariful Kabir, mosque president Muhammad Kajal, Muhammad Jagat, Muhammad Rakib Hasan, Muhammad Mosharraf, Muhammad Rubel said that Hafiz Muhammad Mujahid, who has been leading the mosque for almost seven years, has been prevented from entering and leading the mosque by an influential group since the 3rd of Ramadan. They claimed that Afzal, Abdul Malek and Khokon of the area were involved in this incident. There are various allegations against them in the past. They also mentioned the instigation of another person named Lalmia. According to the worshippers, the accused have forcibly locked the mosque and stopped regular prayers and Friday congregations, as a result of which the common religious people of the area are being deprived of their religious rights. It is alleged that a specific group has closed the mosque by offering prayers within their own limits.  Other Muslims are prevented from offering prayers, and even verbal abuse and physical abuse are taking place. They say that misleading information is being spread about the mosque’s land. They claim that the land was given to the mosque through a deed of donation following the due legal process. But the accused are trying to establish their own control by rejecting this deed of donation, which is against the law and against the dignity of a religious institution. The Muslims present at the press conference stressed that the mosque is not the property of any person; it is a place of worship open to all Muslims. Preventing entry or offering prayers there is a serious injustice and effective intervention by the administration is required against it.
