His village home is in Hasara village, Srinagar upazila, Munshiganj district. Son of freedom fighter Nur Mohammad and late Firoza Begum, Dr. Sheikh Farhad is the father of a daughter. His daughter Maisa Maliha Farhad is studying engineering in the USA and his wife is Dr. Anjuman Ara, an assistant professor at the same university, and an obstetrics and gynecology specialist.
