Today is the second death anniversary of Syed Noor Hossain Bablu, a pioneer of Thakurgaon’s cultural movement, prominent organizer and former president of the Cornet Cultural Society. On this day in 2024, this distinguished personality left Thakurgaon’s cultural scene in a sea of mourning and passed away to a land of no return.
To keep the ideals and memory of this cultural star alive on the death anniversary, a special discussion meeting has been organized at the Cornet Cultural Society’s own office at 8 pm tonight. The organization has humbly requested all members, well-wishers and cultural workers to attend the meeting and pay tribute to the memory of the deceased.
On this sad day, Md. Saiful Islam Prabal Chowdhury, founder and general secretary of the Cornet Cultural Association, said in a condolence message, “Bablu Bhai did not just lead an organization, but he was the guardian and beacon of inspiration for countless young cultural activists. His pure love for music and the cultural arena and his genuine affection for people still make us cry.”
He further mentioned, “Syed Noor Hossain Bablu was a regular Nazrul Sangeet artiste of Bangladesh Betar. He used to spread Nazrul’s rebellious and communist spirit through his voice. He was the embodiment of devotion and pure cultural consciousness. Today he is not physically with us, but the ideals and works he left behind still resonate in the cultural arena of Thakurgaon.”
It is worth noting that Syed Noor Hossain Bablu played an impeccable role in the development of Thakurgaon’s folk traditions and pure culture during his colorful life. His organizational skills in keeping the district’s cultural activities active, especially during the Corona period and afterwards, were highly commendable.
On this day, special prayers are being offered for the forgiveness of the departed soul. He will live forever in the hearts of the culture-loving people of Thakurgaon.
