A four-day training course on 'BD- Pedagogical Training for the Young Teachers of Sylhet Agricultural University-AOL' has begun for Sylhet Agricultural University teachers in the conference room of the Faculty of Fisheries, under the joint initiative of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) and SAU Research System (SAURES). Pedagogical Training for the Young Teachers of Sylhet Agricultural
University-AOL' has begun for Sylhet Agricultural University teachers in the
conference room of the Faculty of Fisheries, under the joint initiative of the
Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sylhet Agricultural University
(SAU) and SAU Research System (SAURES). Last Monday, the event was
chaired by Professor Dr. M. Rashed Hasnat, Director of SIKRBI IQAC, and
moderated by Professor Dr. Mrityunjoy Kunda, Department of Aquatic
Resources Management. The Vice-Chancellor of Sylhet Agricultural
University, Professor Dr. Md. Alimul Islam, was present as the chief guest.
Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries, Professor Dr. Nirmal Chandra Roy and
Director of SOURES, Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahbub Iqbal were
present as special guests. Palm expert Dennis Go-Feij from the
Netherlands provided the training as a resource person. It is to be noted
that 30 young teachers from 6 faculties are participating as trainees in the
four-day training. Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of
the four-day training, SIKRBI VC Professor Dr. Md. Alimul Islam said, "In
the current era of globalization, improving the quality of higher education is
not limited to teaching alone, Rather, it is a holistic process, where teaching
methods, assessment techniques, research skills and appropriate use of
technology are equally important. A teacher is not just a knowledge giver,
he is a guide, a motivator and a skilled human resource builder.
