Rajshahi City Corporation has organized a meeting to exchange views on tree plantation, mosquito control and cleanliness activities on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. The meeting held at the City Hall of Nagar Bhaban on Saturday (April 18) was presided over by the Honorable Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton. In his speech, the RACC Administrator emphasized on ensuring overall cleanliness of the city, strengthening regular mosquito control activities and implementing a massive tree plantation program on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. He called on all concerned to work with sincerity and responsibility.

In his speech as the chairman of the meeting, RASIC Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said, Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given me the responsibility to further improve the environment of the green and clean Rajshahi metropolis. I have taken several initiatives to properly implement that responsibility. Rajshahi city has a reputation as a clean city and a green city. To further enhance this reputation, everyone must work together to make this metropolis a cleaner, more beautiful, healthier and peaceful city.

The RSK administrator said that a 15-day long fogger machine spray program has already been conducted to control mosquitoes. Drain cleaning activities have been strengthened in each ward. Those concerned must properly fulfill their respective responsibilities to ensure cleanliness, mosquito control and citizen services at the ward level.

He also said that initiatives have already been taken to spray foggers to control mosquitoes, collect necessary materials, supply bags to collect sacrificial waste, and install street lights at the ward level. A massive tree plantation program is being taken in Rajshahi metropolis before the next monsoon season.

The meeting was chaired by RSIC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim and welcomed by Chief Cleaning Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun Dollar. Additional speeches were made by RSIC Superintending Engineer (Acting) Ahmed Al Moin Parag and Secretary Md. Sohel Rana on the stage.

Ward secretaries, ward and ward supervisors, central supervisors, and central inspectors from 30 wards were present at the meeting.
