A fire service diving team has recovered the body of a schoolboy named Sadad Ahmed (14) five hours after he went missing while bathing in the Ghaghat River in Gaibandha. The deceased, Sadad Ahmed, was a class 8 student of SKS School and College in Gaibandha town. He was the son of Saifuzzaman Bachchu of Terokhadia area of Rajshahi. A fire service diving team has recovered the body of a schoolboy named Sadad Ahmed (14) five hours after he went missing while bathing in the Ghaghat River in Gaibandha.
The deceased, Sadad Ahmed, was a class 8 student of SKS School and College in Gaibandha town. He was the son of Saifuzzaman Bachchu of Terokhadia area of Rajshahi. He used to study at Khali’s house in Sundarjahan More area of Gaibandha town.
It is learned that on Tuesday (April 14) at around 1 pm, Sadad Ahmed, a class 8 student, went to bathe with 7 friends in the Ghaghat River near Bheramara Bridge in Sadar Upazila. At that time, he suddenly drowned under the water due to the pull of the current. His friends who were with him searched for him a lot but failed to rescue him and informed the locals about the matter.
Later, upon receiving information, a diving team of Rangpur Fire Service reached the spot in the afternoon and started the rescue operation. After about an hour of effort, the bodies of the white men were recovered from the river at around 5 pm.
Md. Asaduzzaman, team leader of the Rangpur Diving Unit, said that the school student’s body was stuck in a hole deep in the river due to the current.
