However, there have been allegations that this medical certificate is not received in time at Gaibandha General Hospital. Due to this, the plaintiffs and defendants of the case are facing extreme suffering and harassment.

It is known that Gaibandha General Hospital is the main center for treating and issuing medical certificates to those injured in violence, fights or accidents in the district. This medical report is one of the most important evidence in a legal case. But there are allegations that this medical certificate is not being issued on time.
The plaintiffs in the case say that despite receiving prompt treatment after the incident, they have to repeatedly approach the hospital through the police for medical certificates. Despite going around day after day, they are not getting the necessary certificates. This is prolonging the desired justice.
The same is true for the defendants. They are unable to complete their legal process due to not receiving the certificate on time. As a result, unnecessary harassment and increasing uncertainty occur.
This crisis has not only affected those awaiting justice, but also the work of law enforcement agencies. Even though the investigation is complete, the police are unable to file a charge sheet in court due to the lack of a medical certificate. As a result, the disposal of cases is being delayed. This is increasing the backlog of cases, prolonging the trial process. It is taking more time for those seeking justice to get justice. Concerned people have expressed concern in such a situation.
Gaibandha Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Crime) Md. Sharif Al Rajib, PPM, said that after filing a case, a medical certificate of the injured person is required to submit the charge sheet to the court. If that certificate is not received on time, time has to be wasted in submitting the charge sheet to the court.
Gaibandha District and Sessions Judge Court Public Prosecutor Adv. Md. Abdul Halim Pramanik said that both the plaintiff and the defendant in the case regarding the medical certificate are facing difficulties. Despite repeated discussions on the issue in committee meetings, the issue is not being resolved. This is hampering the trial process.
When asked about the complaint, Dr. Md. Asif, Resident Medical Officer of Gaibandha General Hospital, said that such a situation has arisen due to manpower shortage and excess patient pressure. Efforts are being made to issue certificates at a fast pace even with limited manpower.
Last year, the police applied for 817 medical certificates in various cases at Gaibandha General Hospital, of which 492 were granted, and in the last three months of this year, 184 applications were made, of which 128 were granted. Although the police are supposed to file a chargesheet within three months of the case, the process is being delayed due to lack of certificates.
