Initiative to widen Kautuli-Ghatura road to ease traffic congestion in Brahmanbaria
To ease traffic congestion in Brahmanbaria district, an initiative has been taken to widen the road from Kautuli to Ghatura. District Council Administrator Alhaj Md. Sirajul Islam Siraj has inspected the area for this purpose. To ease traffic congestion in Brahmanbaria district, an initiative has been taken to widen the road from Kautuli to Ghatura. District Council Administrator Alhaj Md. Sirajul Islam Siraj has inspected the area for this purpose.
It is learned that this initiative has been taken under the direction of Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamal, the newly elected member of parliament for Sadar and Bijoynagar constituencies, to ensure the smooth movement of people coming from various upazilas of the district, including city residents.
During the inspection, the District Council Administrator said that a plan has been taken to widen the road from Kautuli to Ghatura (Old Sylhet Road) to resolve the long-standing traffic congestion problem in Brahmanbaria municipal area.
Present with him at the time were District Council Chief Executive Officer (Acting) Md. Abdul Qadir, former mayor of Brahmanbaria Municipality Hafizur Rahman Molla Kochi, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Brahmanbaria Unit Vice Chairman and District BNP Organizing Secretary Md. Asaduzzaman Shaheen, and other officials of the District Council.
He further said that the district administration, district council, road and highway department and municipality surveyors are already conducting on-site inspections and conducting survey activities. After the plan is prepared, it will be sent to the concerned ministry. Once approved, the work will be implemented quickly through tender.
Those concerned believe that if the road is widened, traffic congestion in Brahmanbaria city will be reduced to a large extent and the movement of the general public will be easier.
